Challenge. From now until mid-February I’ll be focusing on four races with the intentions of pushing the pace and building strength. In order to get there I put together a new training plan. It’s based off of an advanced 10K plan, so there’s plenty of speed and tempo workouts for some early morning punishment. Check out the TRAINING tab to get a look at what I’ll be doing for the next 18 weeks. Wish me luck!

What’s your goal for the Austin Half? Nobody is going to hold ya to it, and it can always be tweaked, but I’m just curious how much you hope to shave off your already very quick 1:29 and Colin’s 1:27:40. 1:25:15 (6:30 pace)???

The PR is likely going to come at 3M in January because of the fast course. The Austin Half course is not… agreeable to PRs. http://bit.ly/n05PND I’ll be pushing it there, but not sure what the goal will be. Depends how 3M goes I guess. Compare that to the 3M course and elevation (at bottom). http://bit.ly/owia01 My 3M main goal is sub-1:27:40, with a back-up of sub-1:29:50.
